CELL CULTURE ESTIMATING SYSTEM, METHOD OF CELL CULTURE ESTIMATION AND CELL CULTURE ESTIMATING PROGRAM

A cell culture estimating system that in cell culturing, is capable of not only prediction/estimation of a lag time or minimum doubling time by the use of a rate of nonsingle cell ratio increase or average cellular projected area of cultured cell population as an estimation parameter but also objectively and accurately judging of whether or not the cell population has had growth stimulation; and a relevant method of cell culture estimation and cell culture estimating program. Images of cell population during stationary culturing in a culture vessel are obtained, and from image for each culture time, a cellular average projected area is computed. A lag time of cell induction period is determined from computed cellular average projected areas. Further, in each image, nonsingle cells are distinguished from single cells, and from the proportion of nonsingle cells in the cell population, a rate of nonsingle cell increase is computed. A minimum doubling time is determined from the rate of nonsingle cell increase. Still further, from the proportion of nonsingle cells, whether or not the cell population has had growth stimulation is judged.
