PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safe light emitting element which can utilize a laser oscillation state of extremely high electro-optical conversion efficiency, and in which a laser beam does not leak to the outside while it a has simple and cheap configuration. SOLUTION: The light emitting element (100) includes an optical resonator structure having a cladding layer (103, 109) which sandwiches an activity layer (105), and a phosphor content layer (111) which absorbs stimulated emission light which is changed into a laser oscillation state in the optical resonator structure by current implantation, and emits visible light in parallel with the optical resonator structure.
