PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide aluminum silicate having excellent adsorption property of alkali metals, and a method for purifying polyoxyalkylene polyols using the same. SOLUTION: The aluminum silicate is (1) expressed by formula (I):(Na<SP>+</SP>)<SB>v</SB>-(H<SP>+</SP>)<SB>w</SB>-(Mg<SP>2+</SP>)<SB>x</SB>-(Al<SP>3+</SP>)<SB>y</SB>-(Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>)<SB>z</SB>-SiO<SB>2</SB>-mH<SB>2</SB>O, (2) contains an alkali metal in an amount of≤5wt%, and (3) has a specific surface area of 200-600 m<SP>2</SP>/g, measured by a BET method. In the formula (I), v, w, x, y, z, and m each satisfies following range: v≤0.02, 0≤w≤0.5, 0≤x≤0.25, 0≤y≤0.17, 0.06≤z≤0.25, and 0.1≤m≤1.5.
