A data output device of a global input/output line and a data output method thereof are provided to perform high speed data transmission by reducing swing width in data transmission, by improving the structure of the data output device as to the global input/output line. A read driver(10) is driven by applied read data, and inversely amplifies the read data and then outputs the read data to a GIO line. A GIO termination part(20) is driven according to a termination signal, and increases or decreases the voltage level of the GIO line before the read data is driven to the GIO line by the read driver. A receiver(30) is driven by the read data transmitted through the GIO line, and inversely amplifies the read data and then outputs the read data.
