PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protecting cage of vegetation, fry, and larvae, capable of providing the vegetation of water grasses or seaweeds and a hiding place for the fry, the larvae, etc., capable of being easily laid or transported by operations on the water, and capable of being fit for unfavorable conditions of setting optionally a laying area and laying the cage. SOLUTION: This protecting cage is formed by spreading a net having bulged parts on a natural coconut fiber mat. The vegetation of the water grasses is conducted all over the upper surfaces of the natural coconut fiber mat, so that the cage provides the fry or the larvae with the hiding place and feed, because the water grasses existing inside the net are protected, even when the water grasses existing outside the bulged parts formed on the net are eaten by sea snails, etc. A passage speed of a water flow is changed by controlling meshes of the net. It is possible that a gateway for the fry or the larvae is separately positioned, and further nets having different mesh sizes are combined with each other and positioned.
