PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely grasp a regional distribution of audience ratings, even if a television set and survey devices move. SOLUTION: An audience rating survey system 100 transmits audience rating source information from home survey facilities 1 installed at an viewer's home, mobile survey facilities 2, and on-vehicle survey facilities 3 to an audience history gathering device 7 through a communications satellite 4 without any audience's operation, even in a region in which the communication state of a mobile phone is not proper by installing an antenna. Much information can easily be gathered in real time, whenever the audience history gathering device 7 makes request by using a line of the communication satellite 4. Further, the facilities 1, 2, and 3 receive a positioning signal 6 from a positioning satellite 5, and computes its position information from the positioning signal 6. Further, the positional information can be converted into an area code. The positional information and area code are included in the audience rating source information, to enable the audience history gathering device 7 to grasp the current positions of the facilities 1, 2, and 3, even if they move.
