<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reversible thermal recording medium with excellent erasing properties under low temperature/low humidity environments, and an image processing method for forming/erasing an image using the reversible thermal recording medium and an image processing device. <P>SOLUTION: This reversible thermal recording medium has a reversible thermal recording layer, which uses an electron-donative coloring compound and an electron-receptive compound, formed on a support and can relatively form a color development state and a color fading state according to the difference in a heating temperature and/or a cooling rate after heating. In addition, the reversible thermal recording medium uses an ether compound represented by formula (1) as a color development/color fading control agent.
