PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuously variable transmission suppressing fretting wear between an input side disk and a carrier and equalizing pressing force of each power roller of a toroidal type continuously variable transmission. SOLUTION: In the continuously variable transmission provided with an input shaft, an output shaft, a toroidal type continuously variable transmission and a planetary gear type transmission, having a carrier 7a of the planetary gear type transmission connected by a plurality of connecting parts 57 having a front and a rear plate shape part 43, 44 arranged in a circumference direction with an equal angle interval, provided with a planetary gear in each space part 60 between each connecting part, and having axial direction pressing force necessary for traction drive of the toroidal type continuously variable transmission transferred to an input side disk 4b via a carrier, the number of the planetary gears is integral multiple of the number of power rollers per one transmission unit composed of an input disk 4b, an output disk and the power roller 6.
