PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To satisfy a need of desiring to restrain creases or a silky texture of a copy and a shadow of a stripped copy and to create a beautiful image, and a need of desiring to create an image which maintains creases, strips or corrected marks of a copy really for preventing a forgery of the copy, by a set of image reading apparatuses. SOLUTION: The image reading apparatus comprises a first mode of reading planar information and solid information existing in the copy, and a second mode of restraining the solid information existing in the copy to read the planar information, wherein the mode is switched if required.
