<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup apparatus which easily copes with the kinds of reading objects while making efficient indirect lighting. <P>SOLUTION: In this image pickup apparatus 1, when a 2nd reflector part 31 is made to shield rays of light going toward an imaging axis line L side among the light emitted from a 1st lighting part 21, stray light generated by the 1st lighting part 21 can hardly strike the reading object directly. Unevenness of lighting which is a factor in causing an erroneous recognition of an electronic component 6 is hardly generated thereby. Separately from a 3rd lighting part 51, direct lighting 10B includes a 4th lighting part 52 arranged at equal intervals in the circumferential direction outside the 3rd lighting part 51. By this 4th lighting part 52, the lighting area is divided equally in the circumferential direction to distribute the lighting to each electronic component 6B.
