PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary kiln with a sideways hollow shaft shaped core tube to be rotated around an axial center for a heated object to pass therethrough, solving the problem that the core tube may be broken by a difference in thermal expansion when mounting an attachment such as a sprocket on the core tube. SOLUTION: An annular portion 15 of the core tube attachment 12a is loosely fitted to the outer periphery of the core tube 6, and a spring member 19 is arranged in a gap 14 between the inner face of the annular portion 15 and the outer periphery of the core tube 6 so as to contact the outer periphery of the core tube 6 at three or more points. The spring member 19 is elastically deformed so that its repulsive force is operated on the outer periphery of the core tube 6.
