<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent video signals recorded on a recording medium from being illegally copied without deteriorating these signals. <P>SOLUTION: When transmitting an AV signal from a device 10 to a device 20, a communication control unit 12 of the device 10 acquires copyright information of the AV signal and authentication information of the device 20. The authentication information includes the operational status of the device 20 such as the status of recording or display operation and device functionality. If the communication control unit 12 acquires authentication information indicating a recording state of the device 20 and copyright information indicating that the copy of the AV signal to be transmitted is prohibited, the communication control unit prohibits the transmission of the AV signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
