PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrict the increase in the size of a gutter in a lost ball housing device which makes the gutter rotate centering around one rotary spindle. SOLUTION: A lost ball counting device 1 is constituted of a housing case 10 which receives the lost balls (hereafter called merely balls) dropping from a lost ball discharge port of a game machine and a ball guide part 20 which rotates centering around the rotary spindle 17 to guide the balls received by the housing case 10 to a counter 30. The ball guide part 20 is made up of a ball receiving part 50 for receiving the balls dropping from a passage hole 15 and an alignment path 60 which gets the balls received with the ball receiving part 50 aligned. The ball receiving part 50 has a spiral path with a bottom surface plate (hereafter called a spiral bottom surface plate) formed spirally centering around the rotary spindle 17. The spiral path is formed surrounding the rotary spindle 17 over an angle of 180°or more and so arranged as to constantly face a spiral bottom surface plate passage hole 15 regardless of the position of its rotation even if it is rotated by 180°centering around the rotary spindle 17.
