PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wireless communication apparatus employing a wireless communication method for causing a radio node relating to information transmission to select the same frequency in an ad hoc network whereon information is transmitted from a certain radio node to another radio node via one or more radio nodes. SOLUTION: The wireless communication apparatus includes: a detection means for detecting presence of another wireless communication apparatus in the vicinity of the wireless communication apparatus; a comparison means for comparing a first reference value managed by the wireless communication apparatus with a second reference value managed by the other wireless communication apparatus; a means for correcting the first reference value based on a result of the comparison; and a means for notifying the other wireless communication apparatus of the first reference value. A frequency is set so that the frequency of the wireless communication apparatus becomes the same frequency as that of still another wireless communication apparatus where radio waves of the wireless communication apparatus do not arrive but radio waves of the other wireless communication apparatus arrive.
