SPINDLE MOTOR AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate various failures generated by a welding process for laser-welding a hub and a shaft of a spindle motor so as to fix the hub to the shaft. SOLUTION: A V-shape recess is previously formed in a welding section in which the shaft and the hub are laser-welded. A laser beam is irradiated to the recess, and welds the shaft and the hub. The screw hole of the shaft is occluded by a sealing jig during the laser-welding. A flying sludge is prevented from entering into the screw hole during the laser-welding. After the laser-welding, a thermosetting resin is applied to the welding section, and metal particulates are prevented from flying from a micro crack generated in the welding section while the spindle motor operates.
