<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermoelectric material and an oriented thermoelectric material capable of obtaining sufficiently small thermal conductivity by controlling a crystal structure. <P>SOLUTION: The thermoelectric material 20 of a polycrystalline substance is composed of a plurality of compounds 2, 3, 4, thus preventing heat from being easily transfered, and reducing the thermal conductivity by the method that the thermoelectric material 20 is constituted of a plurality of compounds. When an element for composing the compounds 2, 3, 4 is different, a decrease in thermal conductivity can be expected, and the thermoelectric characteristics of the material can be improved since the thermoelectric material 20 is composed of totally different compounds. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
