PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medium processor capable of sucking only a medium having a thickness that is a handling object into the processor. SOLUTION: The card processor 1, which handles media with a predetermined thickness and performs predetermined process to the media, comprises a pair of rollers consisting of a first feed roller 6 and an idle roller 7 arranged oppositely with a space capable of nipping each medium that is the handling object, a first slit plate and a first slit detecting sensor detecting rotation of the idle roller 7 which is caused by progress of the medium that is the handling object, and a control section which controls the first feed roller to start driving, upon detection of the rotation of the idle roller 7 by the first slit detecting sensor, to suck the medium of the handling object into the processor.
