PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feed member having a high initial friction coefficient, and capable of keeping the friction coefficient even when a paper feed quantity is increased and a surface of the paper feed member is worn and turned into a smooth surface, and thereby preventing degradation of transport capability. SOLUTION: This paper feed member is characterized by having at least a porous body layer made of an independent foam type silicone elastomer formed of an emulsion composition. More specifically, the paper feed member is characterized by that the porous body layer is formed of a silicone elastomer having a rate of closed cell foams not less than 60%, wherein not less than 50% of cells having diameters not greater than 50μm are included in the whole number of cells.
