摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for measuring gear tooth shape and a measuring master gear used for the device, capable of not only measuring efficiently a tooth shape error of a gear but also measuring even a gear having a small module. SOLUTION: This device has a rotation holding mechanism 62 for holding rotatably special master gears (SMG) 33, 36, 51 having respectively a shape formed by removing alternate teeth from a high-precision involute gear and test gears (G) 34, 75 whose tooth shapes are to be measured, and holding rotatably the special master gears (SMG) and the test gears (G) in the mutually engaged state; and a detection device 64 for measuring each rotation angle of the special master gears (SMG) and each rotation angle of the test gears (G) when the special master gears (SMG) and the test gears (G) are rotated in the mutually engaged state, and determining a deviation of the rotation angle between both gears, to thereby detect each tooth shape of the test gears (G).
