PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup which efficiently radiates heat generated from a light source, with less number of components and is also excellent in assembling performance and adjusting performance. SOLUTION: The optical pickup is constituted of: a laser light source 1 which emits optical beams; a light source unit 2 on which the laser light source 1 is loaded; a holding member 13 which holds the light source unit 2; and a base 7 on which the holding member 13 and optical components are loaded, wherein an infrared radiation film 13 which converts heat into infrared rays so as to perform thermal radiation is formed on the surface of the holding member 13, thereby performing the thermal radiation of the heat generated by the laser light source 1 to the surroundings, so that the heat is efficiently radiated.
