PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size of an internal combustion engine and increase the flexibility in the arrangement of auxiliary equipment by shortening the axial dimension of the crankshaft of the internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: This internal combustion engine 11 comprises the crankshaft 28 supported on a crankcase 20, a flywheel magnet 57 interlocked with the crankshaft 28, and the auxiliary equipment 81 interlocked with the crankshaft 28. The flywheel magnet 57 is disposed on an axis 54 parallel with the crankshaft 28 on the radial outer side of the crankshaft 28. An interlocking device 63 interlocking the rotor 61 of the flywheel magnet 57 is installed on the crankshaft 28. The auxiliary equipment 81 is disposed on an axis 82 parallel with the crankshaft 28 on the radial outer side of the crankshaft 28, and the other interlocking device 91 interlocking the auxiliary equipment 81 is installed on the rotor 61 of the flywheel magnet 57.
