<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of forming a catalyst coating on a base board for a fuel cell. <P>SOLUTION: The method of forming a catalyst coating on a base board comprises a process of preparing a catalyst fluid, a process of distributing the catalyst fluid on the base board by using a direct distributing device programmed so as to distribute the catalyst fluid on the base board having a first and a second sides, a process of forming a catalyst coating into a prescribed pattern on the first side of the base board, and a process of drying each catalyst fluid after the catalyst fluid is distributed on the first side of the base board.
