The proposed device for determining deterioration of rail guides of a shaft contains a holder, which consists of two hinged sections. The holder is installed at the rail guide with identical gaps between the working surfaces of the holder and the surface of the rail guide. The holder locked at the rail guide by a spring. The device contains a wedge-shaped probe to measure the wear and tear of the surfaces of the holder and the rail guide.
