A method of production of composite material includes assembling of plates consisting at least of two different qualities of steel in the pack, welding the pack into the container, heating and pressure working by forging. Prior to assembling the pack the surfaces of plates are first subjected to grinding and degreasing, along entire surface of plates, including front and sides, the opening in the container is rectangular and equal to the dimensions of packet, the ratio of the height of pack to its width is within the range of 3?4, and the ratio of the thickness of plates of the pack of solid composite to the soft one makes from 3 to 4. Container is heated to the temperature of forging of solid component of the pack and the deformation of container with the pack is conducted, then it is forged to produce a straight strip and the operations are repeated to obtain final thickness of 0.08?0.12 of initial height of the container after fist heating.
