The organic electroluminescent device can be a top-emission or dual emission organic electroluminescent device and comprises at least one substrate, an anode electrode on the substrate, an electroluminescent material layer on the anode, a buffer layer on the electroluminescent material layer, and a transparent cathode electrode on the buffer layer, wherein the buffer layer comprises n-type semiconductor material.
