CRYSTAL OF COMPLEX OF Rho-KINASE AND SUBSTANCE CAPABLE OF INTERACTING WITH Rho-KINASE

Disclosed are a crystal of a complex of Rho-kinase and a substance capable of interacting with Rho-kinase; a process for the preparation of the crystal; a method for collecting structural data by means of X-ray diffraction using the crystal; and a method for screening for a substance capable of interacting with Rho-kinase by using the structural data produced by X-ray crystal diffraction. These are achieved by producing a crystal of a complex of a kinase domain polypeptide which is a part of Rho-kinase and comprises a polypeptide comprising an amino acid sequence having isoleucine at position 98, methionine at position 172, aspartic acid at position 176 and alanine at position 231 in the amino acid sequence depicted in SEQ ID NO:1 and a substance capable of interacting with Rho-kinase. The X-ray crystal diffraction analysis of the crystal is made to determine the three-dimensional structural coordinate thereof. Based on the results of the analysis, a substance capable of interacting with Rho-kinase can be screened.
