<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protein crystal detector capable of detecting a protein crystal with high precision, and also to provide a protein crystal detecting method. <P>SOLUTION: In the protein crystal detecting method for detecting the protein crystal in the protein solution held to a crystallization container, a crystal feature image, which is obtained by extracting the feature part of the protein crystal from a plurality of layer images obtained by photographing the protein solution with respect to a plurality of cross sections, is formed at every layer image and a parameter such as the number of representative pixels showing the number of the pixels of the layer image largest in the feature part, the averaeg number of the representative pixels at every label, the non-fluctuation ratio between layers showing the ratio of the number of the pixels of the feature part between two adjacent layers and the like is operated from layer data obtained by numerating the number of the pixels of the feature part and the number of labels. In the judgment of crystallization, the judge parameter is compared with a judge threshold value to discriminate the thickness difference between the protein crystal and another product to judge the state of the protein crystal formation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
