PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve an authentication system low in cost and high in security. SOLUTION: A server device 1 comprises: a shared hole position extracting part 16 extracting positions conforming to all cards on the basis of position information of holes of a plurality of cards unique to each of users stored in a hole pattern storage part 15 and of relative position information generated from a relative position information generation part 14; a specified data string extracting part 17 determining a specified data string on the basis of alphabets corresponding to the positions extracted by the position extracting part 16 in a random table; and an authentication determining part 20 providing authentication on the basis of a checking result between the specified data string and an input data string input to a terminal device. Thereby, the positions of holes to be used for authentication are easily varied by varying the relative positions of each card without distributing a new card.
