PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display panel with discharge efficiency of the panel improved. SOLUTION: The plasma display panel is equipped with a front surface substrate 101 and a back surface substrate 102, a dielectric wall 105 dividing discharge cells arranged between the substrates, an X electrode 110 equipped with a first X electrode 106 and a second X electrode 107 separately arranged on the dielectric wall 105, a Y electrode 111 equipped with a first Y electrode 108 and a second Y electrode 109 separately arranged on the dielectric wall, red, green and blue phosphor layers 117 coated inside the discharge cells. Surface areas of the second X electrode 107 and the second Y electrode 109 starting a main electric discharge are formed differently from surface areas of the first X electrode and the second Y electrode, so that, discharge efficiency of the panel can be improved by reducing capacitance of the panel.
