The light includes a rod-shaped light guide (3) with an optical discontinuity (6) which deflects the guided light so that it is emitted from an output surface (8) opposite the defect. The light guide is also provided with a second discontinuity on a boundary wall of a internal cavity (9) provided within the light guide, and at a small distance from the light output surface. The internal cavity is connected to the outer surface (7) of the light guide via an opening.
