The flows between which heat is transferred, are separated by a finned wall. Each fin (6) has a linear edge (11) facing into the approaching flow, and two linear edges where the flow leaves it. The edges border two continuous side walls (12) of the fins. The fins extend along the principal flow direction. Sidewalls include angles of 90[deg] or less, at both the leading and trailing edges. The front configuration is essentially wedge-shaped. Sides of the fins are parallel at the rear, and the angle between tangents to the sides, increases steadily as the front edge is approached from the rear.
|
