PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an IP telephone apparatus capable of establishing an IP phone closes to its own IP phone as a transfer destination. SOLUTION: A control circuit 11 supplies IP address data to a DTMF sender 15 at the point when a time set on the basis of a lower-order address of an IP address of the IP telephone 10 elapses from a preset time to allow a speaker 17 to output a DTMF signal tone corresponding to the IP address. A microphone 18 receives DTMF signal tones transmitted from a plurality of other IP telephones, respectively, at different times and a DTMF receiver 19 detects IP addresses of the other IP telephones and their reception levels. The control circuit 11 makes the IP addresses correspond to their reception levels and stores them into a memory 13 and selects an IP address with the highest reception level as the transfer destination IP address.
