<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce weight and size and to improve durability and reliability of an inner wheel fastened and fixed to a hub wheel. <P>SOLUTION: This bearing device for a wheel is so structured that the inner wheel 3 and an annular spacer ring 4 are externally fitted to a small-diameter step part 2b of the hub wheel 2; and the inner wheel 3 is fixed to the hub wheel 2 through the spacer ring 4 at a fastening part 2c formed by plastically deforming an end of the small-diameter step part 2b outward in the radial direction. Since the spacer ring 4 is formed into a cross-sectionally oblong shape and is formed with a ring with ends having one slit 11 circumferentially formed, hoop stress acting on the inner wheel 3 can be relaxed by suppressing deformation of the inner wheel 3 caused by a fastening process, and end faces are opened even when radially outward force is applied to the spacer ring 4 in the fastening process, whereby the diameter of the spacer ring 4 is increased and the force can be relaxed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
