The module has a roof lining fastened to a middle section in an outer jacket (2), and consisting of a set of edge areas (6). The areas extend within a projection of support edges and are unloaded. The areas are bendable outward over the projection, under a force. A bending area (7) and a bending line/strip are formed between the section and the areas (6) by a local variation of mechanical characteristics of substrate of the lining. An independent claim is also included for a method for installation of a roof module in an opening in a vehicle body.
