<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an apparatus for image forming capable of restraining deterioration in the image quality of an image. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus for image forming has: an image carrier; a plurality of developing devices equipped with a developer carrier for developing a latent image carried on the image carrier with developer while rotating at higher rotational speed than that of the image carrier, and a space holding member rotatably supported by the developer carrier, capable of separating from/abutting on the image carrier and holding space between the image carrier and the developer carrier by abutting on the image carrier; a transfer medium to which a developer image formed by the developer carrier is successively transferred; a reference signal generation part for generating a plurality of reference signals being the reference of the operation of the developing devices; and a control part for controlling the rotational speed of the developer carrier and the separation timing of the space holding member, and making a time required until starting the deceleration of the developer carrier after generating the reference signal different from a time required until starting the deceleration of the developer carrier after generating the reference signal in the other developing device, and making a time required until the separation of the space holding member after generating the reference signal different from a time required until the separation of the space holding member after generating the reference signal in the other developing device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
