PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To uniformly apply tension to a belt in a lateral direction when the tension is adjusted in a belt type carrying device. SOLUTION: In this carrying device, an article on a belt 403 is carried by circulating the belt 403 stretched across two rollers 401 and 402 by rotating the rollers 401 and 402. The carrying device comprises a tension adjusting roller 404 disposed between these two rollers 401 and 402 and adjusting the tension of the belt 403.
