PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide interesting information for users inside an elevator car without making them bored, and to provide specific information for specific users inside the elevator car. SOLUTION: This information provision device 1 for an elevator is provided with an individual authentication means 5 for recording personal information at least including identification information to identify a user 4 having a specific use relationship with the elevator as a specific individual; an information reading means 11 provided in an intended position inside the elevator car 10 and reading personal information from the individual authentication means 5; an information accumulating means 3 for accumulating the personal information on the elevator user 4 as content; an information transmitting means 12 for transmitting the content to the user 4 inside the elevator car 10; and an information distribution control means 20 for controlling the personal information recorded in the individual authentication means 5 and the content distributed via the information transmitting means 12 and for performing control so as to select intended content from the information accumulating means 3 based on the personal information read from the information reading means 11 and output the intended content from the information transmitting means 12.
