PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase a capacity of an intake chamber while reducing an installation space as small as possible, and secure a degree of freedom of design of the length of an intake pipe, in a variable valve engine in which the intake valves controlled to be opened/closed to adjust an intake air amount are disposed for each of a plurality of cylinders, and an intake system with intake chamber and no throttle valve is connected with an intake port of the cylinder head. SOLUTION: An intake chamber 80 has a plurality of connection ports to be individually connected with each intake port. The connection ports of the intake chamber 80 are formed at position shifted on one side from the intake ports along a cylinder arrangement direction 23 of an engine body 22, the intake chamber is arranged to be opposed to one side wall of the cylinder head 30 so that one end thereof is expanded more to a side than one end of the engine body 22 disposed along the cylinder arrangement direction 23, and a plurality of intake pipes 88 similar in shape extending from each connection port to the intake port side obliquely intersect with respect to the cylinder arrangement direction in a plan view.
