<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in which an image shift is not achieved in a DL generation stage in BDL though it is ideal that the shift is performed in the DL generation stage since the image shift such as a binding margin or an XY offset is performed in the DL generation stage or in the case of engine transfer after rendering and the direction and amount of the shift are generally restricted in the latter case. <P>SOLUTION: The image shift in a main scanning direction is performed in generating DL by the BDL.
