PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a card-like medium from hitching at the head position even in case the car-like medium is curling. SOLUTION: A card-like medium transporting mechanism 201 transports a card 3 transported on a transport path 202 while pressing a head 129 on the card, wherein the head 129 enters into the transport path 202 and retreats therefrom, and the arrangement includes a guide part 203 which moves in the transporting direction of the card-like medium 3 when the head 129 is in the retreated condition so as to form the transport path 202.
