<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game device that suitably varies game music. <P>SOLUTION: A variation position candidate data storage section 44 stores variation position candidate data showing one or a plurality of variation position candidates to vary music played back by a music playback section 42. A current playback position acquisition section 48 acquires the current playback position of music played back by a music playback section 42. A variation timing monitoring section 50 watches the arrival of a variation timing at which the current playback position coincides with one or any one of a plurality of variation position candidates shown by the variation position candidate data after a prescribed timing.
