<p>The connecting leads (19, 20) are formed by strips of electrically-conducting material, especially metal foil. These are wound with the layers (15-18) forming electrodes (15, 17) and insulation (16-18). The strips are soldered and/or adhered to the electrodes using electrically-conducting adhesive. The wound body forming the electrode unit (12), is given external and/or internal support by water-permeable cylinder(s). One end of the body is cast with an electrically-insulating material, especially a plastic, in which the strips are embedded. The strips extend over much of the length of the electrode layers. The strips may be formed by metallization on the conductive layers. To this end, metallizing pastes, chemical and/or electrolytic deposition may be employed. The strips are fully enclosed in the casting mass around the upper or lower end of the body. This impregnates the assembly at the end, and forms a completely-embedding, insulating layer for the strips.</p> |
