PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve shading characteristics even if using a camera lens whose lens characteristics deviate from paraxial ray approximation in a CMOS type image sensor. SOLUTION: For example, a plurality of photodiodes 13 are arranged two-dimensionally in an image area 11a at the surface section of a semiconductor substrate 11. The plurality of photodiodes 13 have the same array pitch each for arrangement. On each photodiode 13, a condensing microlens 19 is provided via a translucent film 15. The array pitch of the microlens 19 is ununiform in the image area 11a, is smaller than that of the photodiode 13 at the center section in the image area 11a, and becomes larger than that of the photodiode 13 at the periphery section.
