PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of forming a multilayer coating film, which is less in production of a volatile organic compound, has low-temperature curing property, is excellent in energy saving property, and is excellent in finishing performance and corrosion resistance without causing a mixed layer between an electrodeposition coating film and a powder coating film or causing defects on the coating film, by applying an electrodeposition coating material and power paint on a metallic product in a two-coat one-bake process, thereby solving conventional problems in the method of forming the multilayer coating film. SOLUTION: In the method of forming the multilayer coating film by electrodeposition-applying the electrodeposition coating material on the metallic product and setting or air-blowing, applying the powder paint on the uncured electrodeposition coating film and heating and curing both coating films of the formed electrodeposition coating film and the formed power coating film at the same time. As the electrodeposition coating material, the electrodeposition coating material forming the electrodeposition coating film having≤5 wt% loss in heat after the coating film is heated and dried at 105°C for 3 hr and cured by heating at 160°C for 20 min is used.
