PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a differential feeding sewing machine, which can easily adjust sewing length for making predetermined shirring. SOLUTION: A differential feeding sewing machine 1 makes sewing operation for predetermined amount of shirring of the sewing length which is set for each sewing step according to sewing pattern data including the shirring amount data and the sewing length data which are memorized in ROM10b or EEPROM10d, and also changes the sewing operation so as to start the shirring stitch in the following step when it finishes the shirring stitch of the sewing length which is set for the sewing step beforehand, especially, the differential feeding sewing machine 1 has a function to temporarily stop the change of sewing operation from the previous sewing step to the following sewing step.
