PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ion exchange membrane and electrode assembly (2) constituted so as to suppress or avoid the corrosion of an anode (8) and/or a cathode in a sufficiently effective manner. SOLUTION: The electrode assembly is equipped with a first electrode (88), the cylindrical first ion exchange membrane (10) which surrounds the first electrode and the cylindrical second ion exchange membrane (12) which surrounds the first ion exchange membrane. A first liquid flow channel (72) is provided between the first electrode and the first ion exchange membrane while a second liquid flow channel (74) is provided between the first and second ion exchange membranes, and the first and second liquid flow channels are separated by the first ion exchange membrane.
