The tool handle contains a core (i) for connecting to the work appliance and between the core and the outer sleeve (ii) is an elastic element (iii) which is based on cellular polyisocyanate polyaddition products such as polyurethane elastomers and is pretensioned between the inner and outer faces to between 5 and 50 percent. The surface of the core facing the elastic element and/or the surface of the outer sleeve are contoured.
