PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display which has preferable display quality and visibility regardless of the change of ambient lightness. SOLUTION: The display device has a display panel which has a plurality of pixels arrayed in matrix in a horizontal scanning direction and a vertical scanning direction and a display control section which displays an image on the display panel by blinking pixels on a dynamic scanning basis at a designated blinking frequency. Further, the display device has amain control section which receives display data of the image and ambient lightness data from outside and sends them to the display control section and a display frequency control section which controls the designated blinking frequency based upon the ambient lightness data.
