<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode superior in durability against fuel, superior in industrial productivity, and of low cost, its manufacturing method, and a fuel cell of high performance using the electrode. <P>SOLUTION: This is a fuel cell electrode consisting of a compound particle in which hydrocarbon system electrolyte is in contact with a metal and/or a metal carrier and a binder. The fuel cell electrode is manufactured by the following process; (1) a process in which a metal and/or a metal carrier and a solution or a dispersion solution containing hydrocarbon system electrolyte are made to contact and polymerization and/or surface treatment of the metal are carried out, (2) a process in which liquid of a solution or a dispersion solution containing a substance having an anionic group is evaporated, (3) a process in which lump of the metal and/or metal carrier and a hydrocarbon system electrolyte compound is crushed and made particulate, and (4) a process in which the above particulate is mixed with a binder solution or a dispersion solution and made a paste. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
