PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric device system for making a connection in terms of circuitry between a first and a second electric device connected to each other via a connecting cable, without removing the connecting cable; an electric device; and a method for controlling connections. SOLUTION: When receiving an instruction from a user to cut off a connection with a terminal device 1, the microcomputer 21 of a host device 2 sends a cutoff instruction for cutting off the connection between the terminal device 1 and the host device 2. When receiving the cutoff instruction from the host device 2, the microcomputer 11 of the terminal device 1 opens a switch SW and disconnects the power terminal of a connection 1a from a resistor R1. When disconnected from the host device 2 the microcomputer 11 of the host device 1 closes the switch SW and connects the power terminal of the connection 1a to the resistor R1 when the user depresses a connection button 12.
